Writing To A Deadline

I seem to get things done almost immediately, not that I rush my work, it's just that it seems to come out and work with very little editing. I hate not finishing things, but it happens sometimes. Using Submittable, I found writing tasks that look for work - but they often have a deadline.

Working to a deadline is a good way to see what you come up with under (a little bit of) pressure. The other day I gave myself a challenge of writing one Haiku after seeing a magazine looking for submissions - I did not send it in, but I enjoyed a simple task to a limited time.
I ended up writing three. It didn't take too long, but I was happy it got done.

Sometimes having a deadline is good as it improves what you can do in a short time frame, which in turn means you get a lot more done in a day. If it seems too much, write for a publication with no deadline - but I fear with this, it won't ever get finished or the content is dead in the water. Just keep trying, I have saved requests for articles, that I've not even looked at yet, but I can't wait to start!
