I'm not talking about just converting an already existing short story into another language, I mean starting from scratch...
I grew up speaking Italian (hard to believe, I know), my relatives raised me bilingual, unfortunately, I seem to had forgotten everything by age 10.
So, lately I've been using Duolingo and Memrise to pick it back up. I've always been interested in learning languages, and I know very basic German, French, and for the second time in my life, Italian.
I am hoping to stretch myself and attempt to write a book in Italian - without using an online translator. This short story would not be for the public (unless it's somehow the best piece of Italian literature to come out of knowing next to no Italian..).
The challenge means I have to keep up with learning a new language, as well as pushing myself as a creative writer. Hence there being no deadline for this - but I will keep you posted!
